True domination is reflected in the will of the person… demonstrated in how they behave, and more importantly, the why behind how they do. Anyone can assume a behavior (how convincingly they're able to is dependent upon other conditions)… but the truth of a person is seen in the "why" that exists behind their personality - what drives them to take their course… mixed with an appreciable core consistency to their character (random displays can be no more than that - random).
 
A strong, dominant will can be felt in a person's presence and seen behind all of their actions. It's the effect they have on others and how they easily stand out in a crowd. It's how they handle adverse situations, and naturally command respect (but usually also engender a degree of envy, especially when successful). It's the way they view obstacles and opposition, and face challenges with confidence or at the very least determination. It's in their aggressive instincts - how they strive to have what they want or defend what is theirs. It's in the way they enjoy confrontation - how they impose their will on others and seek to assume control. It's their general outlook on life - their values and beliefs - and how they view the world, their place in it, and that of others in relation to them. All of this and more, and usually displayed most clearly in unconscious acts which demonstrate their natural tendencies in the most unpremeditated ways. But most importantly… it's seen in how they control themselves.
 
In terms of sexual behavior, dominant individuals will seek dominant roles in the bedroom. Such positions are simply natural and comfortable to them - it's what gets us off, with the opposite usually having the opposite effect. Some in the BDSM community do not agree with what I just said, but they aren't usually talking about the same thing I am in terms of true dominant personalities, and their focus is on sexual gratification and what directly surrounds that. They're usually more interested roles and skills - things which should definitely be taken seriously in their way (if for no other reason that safety's sake and the want to be responsible adults in whatever we do - especially when things like bondage sex, sadism and masochism have entered the room), but at times these get so serious, so over-defined, and so inflated that they turn into a form of identity for those involved.
 
This opens the door to the delusions of the false dominant I've mentioned - the role becomes so loved/embraced that it, combined with participation in a supporting group, turns into a propped up identity that is assumed by the person, but not really true to their personality. It's just true to their interests and turn-ons (sexually - power based "turn ons" don't always reflect a dominant personality. They can actually be demonstrative of a personality that is weak but wants to feel strong - and it's in this minority that we often find some of the most abusive idiots).
 
I've had many, many women comment to me about how surprised they were to find out the "dominant male" they were with, was really more of a switch (someone who goes back and forth between domination and submission in the bedroom, depending on what they feel like doing that day) or even proved to prefer the submissive role more, admitting it to be something they had always secretly fantasized about (femdom strapon training especially). Some women have even told me that just about every self-proclaimed "true dominant" guy they met, when given the chance to be sexually dominated themselves, ended up going for it and loving it - these observations usually including forced femdom fantasies, ass worship and other like forms of BDSM.
 
There is nothing surprising about this really… it goes right in line with what I have been saying here right along. True dominants are very rare… and even more rare amongst males since they are already so dominated by their own sexuality and sexual desires (dominant homosexual males can at times open an interesting set of side considerations to this).
 
For me… there is only one guy I have ever met who has not shown himself to be this way. We are good friends and never attempt any sort of dominant pissing contests between one another. I'm not interested in him sexually because he is not the type of man I like… but I like him as a friend and we treat each other as such.
 
Otherwise… what I have found out in life is that female domination trumps male claims to dominance… and the end result is a man who secretly desires to be the slave of a dominant woman ~laughs~… at least they seek that with me ~grinz~.
