While we are on the topic of true domination and dominant personalities, something more though… I said "being 'in charge' and 'getting your way' is a common dream that most imagine to be wonderful, especially when confronted with all of the frustrations that are the reality of life". Some do think that if they were "the boss" all their headaches would be solved… but usually these people have never really been in such a position before, and don't fully understand all that it entails (hell, think of people who win the lottery, and how many end up having more problems as a result instead of less… usually you bring your problems with you - no matter where you go, there you are).
 
There are others who understand these things though, even if they've never faced true leadership and failure at it. They realize that being the boss comes with its own set of headaches, revolving around the word "responsibility" - having to make decisions and stand by the consequences of them - and for many of these, the answer is found in giving up that responsibility and letting someone else lead (true leaders though, usually see these "headaches" as welcome challenges - a means to prove one's worth that can be just as exciting as threatening, often presenting opportunity instead of only obstacle - the chance to succeed, thrive, and grow stronger).
 
If you follow, you don't have to have the answers, you can just do as you are told, with the leader taking up the weight of accountability - leave someone else to be responsible for the big picture and all that is left to you, is to do the little things you're expect to. Thus life is easier since the farther you push yourself from responsibility, the simpler things get… at least in some ways. (I feel myself heading towards a quasi-Aristolean discourse on "natural slavery" - that the majority of human beings are naturally slaves and thus should be enslaved in some form by the minority who are naturally leaders… since such people cannot find fulfillment in the greater sense if left to their own devices without direction - but I will resist the temptation ~laughs~).
 
For these people, the answer isn't the dream of leadership and domination… but instead what is essentially submission. It is here they find greater fulfillment and happiness, because the difficulties of greater responsibility are assumed by someone else… someone more suited to the task. While they can lead the simpler lives they are meant to.
 
The problem is that this is usually something that is hard for most to admit - we are raised in the hope of being something greater than what we are often destined to be - and so most dream of being more but lack the necessary elements in their personality to reach that in reality. Truth is, while so many wish for power and control… the place of the majority is in submission to the stronger, more capable will. Adherence to natural order - with those dominating the top of the pyramid naturally less in number than those at the bottom.
